Niq story takes centre stage

Author Niq Mhlongo’s fans can see characters of his short story, Nailed, be brought to life. Nailed is one of Niq’s 11 short stories compiled in the book, Soweto Under the Apricot Tree. The stage version was written and directed by Luthando Mngomezulu. The Market Theatre commissioned the adaptation, and will play from 8 February to 3 March 2019.

Nailed is a story about an unscrupulous MEC who uses state resources to win the heart of a married woman. The woman’s husband busted them and their lives take a nasty turn.

The direction of the play is mentored by reputable Mpho Molepo. It features Khulu Skenjana who played Caesar in the television series, The Imposter. Former Our Perfect Wedding presenter Aya Mpama and other finest talents are expected to thrill the audience.
